Congratulations to Andy Howe FSINWP with this image entitled "Short-eared owl".
Andy tells us
"Firstly, id like to say big thank you to all the judges and congratulations
to all the finalist and fellow winners.
It’s a great honour to receive a third place for my Short-eared owl photograph
(Going in) in this the inaugural Bird Photographer of the year competition run
by Photographic Societies in conjunction with the RSPB
2018 has been a good year for me with the societies (SNIWP) earlier on I was
very proud to receive Fellowship honours and in March won the monthly gold
medal.
Photography related business. I’d spent quite a few hours travel from home to
this site at various times during the shorted-owl season here in the southern
end if the country, on this particular bright very cold late February morning,
every thing as they say “dropped into place”
