Congratulations to Simon Wantling with this image entitled "Little Owl Head on Flight"

The image was shot on a Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, with a FocalLength of 600mm at F 4.56.

Simon tells us

'' Wow - thanks so much for your email and letting me know of my Little Owl image winning the SINWP Bird Photographer of the Year competition - that's wonderful news. I'm up north currently photographing wildlife here so this has made my day.''

''With regards for additional information - The Little Owl image was captured during the last light at a location in the Bedfordshire Countryside. I spent over a month watching these owls, slowing introducing myself into their environment and watching their habits before introducing the camera and was amazing watching them throughout the season. The equipment used was the Canon 1DX Mark II and Canon 600mm F4 IS Mark II lens. ''
