Congratulations to Anne Algar with this winning image entitled 'Head of a ghost midge larva'. Anne from Middlesex, England has won 12 months membership to the Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers.
Anne tells us about the
winning image - ''The photo was taken using a Nikon 10x microscope lens
mounted on extension bellows which in turn were mounted on a Canon EOS 7D camera
body. The final image was derived from a stack of around 70 individual images.
Exposures 1/4 second using electronic first shutter curtain mode. Obviously
taken indoors. Dark field illumination using LED lamps.''
