Congratulations the Clive Greenland with this image.

Clive tells us about the image - Taken at the Hawk Conservancy Trust, Andover. The photo was taken during a Black Kite display in the meadow grounds in Springtime with a lovely backdrop of wild flowers (just to set the scene). Food was thrown up with a catapult and the Kites produced incredible aerial agility to catch the food mid-air. As seen in the photo, they fight for the food, which produces mid-air battles.

Using a Canon 7D Mk1 with 70-300mm, focal length of photo taken 210mm. The photo required a fast shutter speed of 1/2500 sec, F/stop was f8 the optimum to get a balance between best quality while still obtaining a fast shutter speed, not forgetting to keep the ISO low ISO 640 i.e. keep below ISO 800 for best image quality on the Mk1 version.
