Congratulations to Jason Gericke from Nottinghamshire, England with this image.
Jason tells us a bit about the image - ''The image was taken on my Nikon D500 with a Nikon 500mm F4 AF-S II in Nottinghamshire after I had word from a friend that this scarce Pectoral Sandpiper was around, it was quite an obliging bird from what I had been told.
I spent about 2 hours lying in the mud waiting for the bird to arrive, eventually it did and spent a few minutes on the shoreline looking for breakfast, slowly making its way closer to me, eventually it stopped feeding and began preening which allowed me the opportunity to capture some unique poses, this shot was one of them.
