John Erik Ellingsen tells us a bit about his image - ''During lockdown I really started to appreciate the local park more. I am lucky to be close to Richmond Park in London and early morning trips with my camera revealed a park rich in wildlife. A Kestrel pair had set up a nest in a hollow dead oak close to a main path through the park. Oblivious to the many walkers passing by they were rearing three chicks. Here the Kestrel mother is bringing a Vole back to the noisy delight of the brood. Breakfast served!
Nikon D850, 500mm PF handheld, 1/1250s, f8, ISO 640.
Jason Gericke tells us a bit about the image - "Every winter flocks of Tufted Ducks arrive in good numbers at my local nature reserve, Attenborough in Nottingham. On a cold December morning, clear but windy, I noticed this male Tufted Duck performing some real acrobatics whilst preening in the waves, presenting me a chance to capture this shot as he lay on his back pulling on his down feathers."
