Competitions: Quarterly Competitions for Colour and Monochrome Prints and Digital Images. Annual Competitions for Colour and Monochrome Prints and Digital Images. Thematic Competition. Panel Competition. Digital Image Knockout Competition. 12-Shot Challenge (Members have to photograph 12 given subjects, images are assembled into panels, which are then seen by a guest judge and votes for the top three panels are gathered from the members). Outings and Social events Annual Dinner Summer Social Skittles Evening Walks in the local countryside during July and August.

History: Founded in 1954 The Society met at the Sileby Village Institute until June 2009 and then in the Sileby Community Centre since 2021. Since 1980 themed slide/digital image shows have been produced for the Annual Exhibitions with contributions from the members. The shows have been kept together and subsequently taken to many photographic societies and other organisations in the Midlands (silebyps.org.uk/slide_shows.htm). Several of the members enter competitions run by other societies helping to keep the name of Sileby Photographic Society to the fore. We are a friendly society, and the programme contains a mix of competition and lectures by both visiting speakers and our own members (silebyps.org.uk/programme.htm).
