My introduction to photography started at the early age of 11, when I went for a walk in the countryside and took a Kodak Instamatic camera with me. The film in it was never developed. The sheer enjoyment of handling, looking through the viewfinder, and composing the image was enough to get me started.

I am a general photographer with over 40 years experience, specialising in landscape, fine art, nature and heritage and developing an interest in environmental issues photography. My enthusiasm for photography has also given me the opportunity to teach digital photography to year 7 pupils. I have only ventured into digital photography within the past 5 years. Although I am self-taught I have gleaned a lot of useful advice from many of the popular digital photography magazines

I am a huge fan of black and white, which is a true art form with timeless quality. To date my images have concentrated on two areas of the United Kingdom - Northern Ireland and The Lake District, which I consider to be my second home. I use Photoshop for basic manipulation of most images, and like to add saturation and subtle effects to many as well.

After many years as an enthusiast photographer, I decided to take my 'hobby' a step further as a result of favourable comments from friends. I registered as a small business in December 2008 and launched my web site in May 2009. Over the coming 18-24 months I anticipate extending my stock photographs and fine tuning my site.
